Carmen

When: Sunday, December 5

Time: 2:30pm

Where: Rockwell Hall, SUNY Buffalo State

Meet up with your AFB friends to enjoy Bizet's Opera Carmen. This classic premiered in 1875, and is one of the world's most loved operas. It is set in Seville and is filled with exciting and romantic music such as The Flower Song and Toreador Song.

Carmen is a gypsy "femme fatale," enticing Don Jose, a sergeant, to let her escape jail and join her smuggling ring. Carmen soon falls out of love with him and is then attracted to Escamillo, the bullfighter. Emotions run high, and lead to the inevitable tragic end.

The opera will be sung in French, with English surtitles.

Please Purchase Tickets directly from the venue.

AFB Board member and opera fan, Joseph Smith will be the leader for AFB.

Dinner after the event? Why not!

Please let Joseph know if there is a restaurant you'd like to go to after the event in order to discuss the performance.
