Le Petit Prince:

Let the Little Prince help you improve your French language skills

Day of the week: Tuesdays

Dates: July 6, 13, 20, 27

Time slot: 5-6:30pm (90 minute classes)

Level: Intermediate and Advanced Adult learners

Language of instruction: en français

Teacher: Anna Robinson

Did you know that Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is 75 years old this year?

Join us as we discover (or rediscover) this novel as adults. Using class discussions, readings, performance, conversation and reflection, you'll creatively delve deeper into this simple novel that is profound and complex

During our 4 weeks together, we will learn more about Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and then 'play' with his most celebrated novel.

Each week, we will read parts of this “children’s book for grown-ups”, act it out, explore some of the characters the petit prince meets during his odyssey, and then do a little Jazz improvisation with the ideas and how they pertain to our own experiences.

All in the comfort of a Zoom Room. This workshop is for intermediate level students and will be taught in French. You will need a copy of the book in French. Please download the book as a PDF (a link will be sent in the confirmation email) or purchase one from your favorite bookseller .

About the teacher: Anna Robinson has an MA in French from Middlebury College where she studied French language, phonetics, linguistics, art, history, literature, and pedagogy. She has studied at the Faculté des Lettres in Neuchâtel, Switzerland and in Avignon, France. A high school French teacher for thirty years, Anna is now retired. While teaching, she led several trips to France with her students.

Anna lives in Eden with her husband. They have three grown daughters and five grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and baking, especially French cuisine, reading and swimming. Anna loves opportunities to speak French and to engage with French culture.
