Mirage Blues

From the landing beaches on D-Day to the jazz clubs of New Orleans, from the chic coastal town of Deauville to the Strip of Las Vegas, a family saga where passion overcomes generational and racial differences.

1944. Évreux. The day following the Normandy landings, a Black American GI meets a young French girl from the Norman bourgeoisie. A passionate romance immediately blossoms… The love of their lives. A forbidden love, unjustifiably shocking at the time, for which Elise, the heroine, is ready to give up everything, come hell or high water. However, a major tragedy will destroy their future forever, until the truth emerges seventy years later.

Virna Lorentz was born in Southeastern France.  A graduate of the College of Arts and Humanities in Nice, Virna Lorentz also holds a degree from the Institute of Translators, Interpreters and International Relations in Strasbourg. She masters five languages, and is specialized in legal translation.

This event will be en français and on Zoom. It is free for all Alliance Française members, AATF members, and invited guests of the presenter. Non-members or persons who have no AF chapter nearby can purchase tickets ($10).
